“Wild”
“Wild” is based off of two wild stallions that Treza photographed at the Salt River in Arizona. This beautiful, one of a kind abstract signed oil painting is painted in the “thin to thick” oil method on a 36 x 60” canvas. Treza started by sketching these majestic Wild Stallions using charcoal, followed by a thin layer of thinned oil paint over the entire canvas in an abstract style. She then built up thick layers of oil paint on the stallion facing the viewer. Only the face, mane, tail and portion of the flank of the other horse have thick layers of paint, allowing the abstract under layer to show through as well as charcoal marks. This method literally brings out the wildness of these majestic animals
The painting is preserved and protected with Gamvar varnish which is developed in collaboration with the National Gallery of Art.
